I started listening to Kaskade’s Fire & Ice album again tonight.. I haven’t listened to any of the songs for at least five months and I remember when I used to listen to the entire album non-stop in the Fall semester. Man, felt like so long ago. And now that I’m listening to it again, after all these months, I find myself feeling all kinds of nostalgia.. Not because of the music/album itself, but because of what I was doing, and what was going on, as the album played non-stop on my laptop. The song in particular that gave me chills was Turn It Down (Ice Mix).. Brings me straight back to Fall semester.. Ahhh, I can still remember the feelings I had, along with the thoughts and carelessness.
The same goes for Drake’s Take Care album. Raaahhh.. I started listening to the whole album again tonight too.. Fall 2011 was all kinds of new for me. But absolutely refreshing, nonetheless. *Sighhh. “We live in a generation of, not being in love, and not being together. But we sure make it feel like we’re together” - Doing It Wrong. Sometimes I wish I could go back to last semester.. Back to the butterflies, carelessness, and most importantly.. bliss. I find myself thinking back on it every now and then.. And despite all the circumstances, I have to admit that I made some really amazing memories last semester.
Sometimes I think about how I wouldn’t mind going back to all that.. but when I think about the bigger picture and the grand scheme of things, I can’t help but feel that maybe it’s better this way…? Erghhh, I don’t know. Honestly, at this point, who knows what’s “better” for me……….. ‘Cause I sure don’t.
